TÜBİTAK 2237-A Project Support for Mathematics Department Faculty Members

The project titled "Computer Science Olympiads Education Balıkesir", carried out by the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Balikesir University and supported within the scope of TÜBİTAK 2237-A Scientific Education Activities Support, was successfully completed between October 30 and November 4, 2024, hosted by Balikesir Teachers' House. The project was conducted by Prof. Dr. Fırat Ateş and Prof. Dr. Sebahattin İkikardeş, faculty members of the Department of Mathematics, and among the project stakeholders was Balikesir Provincial Directorate of National Education. In the training program designed for Mathematics and Informatics teachers, fundamental topics in computer science Olympiads such as Graph Theory, Algorithms and Arrays, Functions and Pointers, Probability and Binomial Expansions, Painting Principle and Game Strategies were covered. Through this project, Balikesir University, Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences has contributed to teachers attaining the knowledge and equipment that can guide their students in Computer Science Olympiads; It also strengthened the university's social contribution mission in the field of education.
