2024 Academic Incentive and Science Award

The 2023-2024 Academic Award and Academic Incentive Awards Ceremony was held at Balıkesir University (BAÜN). The ceremony, held in the Martyr Fethi Sekin Conference Hall of the BAÜN Atatürk Congress and Culture Center, was attended by Balıkesir University Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu; Balıkesir Deputy Governor Ömer Faruk Günay; BAÜN Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Cevdet Avcıkurt, Prof. Dr. Murat Doğdubay, and Prof. Dr. Fatih Satıl; Senate members; Balıkesir University Foundation Vice President Ziyaettin Tan; award-winning faculty members, and academic and administrative staff.

The ceremony began with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem. It continued with a musical performance prepared by the Folk Music Group of the Music Ensemble, operating under the BAÜN Health, Culture, and Sports Department. Following the performance, Balıkesir Deputy Governor Ömer Faruk Günay presented the ensemble members with certificates of appreciation.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Balıkesir University Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu emphasized the importance of academic development and progress, stating that the university closely follows and will continue to support the successful work of Balıkesir University faculty and students who contribute to the university and the academic world. Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu shared examples of progress made over the past year and congratulated the award-winning academics.

The ceremony continued with the presentation of plaques and awards to the faculty members who received Academic Awards in the 2023-2024 Academic Year by Balıkesir University Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu and Balıkesir University Foundation Vice President Ziyaettin Tan. Following this, the presentation of certificates to the academics who ranked in the top three in their respective departments within the Academic Incentive Awards.

Eleven academics received awards as part of the academic awards ceremony, while 72 received certificates for academic incentive awards.
